We know from our clients and from our own industry background that rostering is one of the major management challenges facing community care services.
It’s all very well in theory to set rosters long in advance, but in reality there are always last minute changes.
How well you are able to manage those changes to preserve staff productivity is a key measure of efficient, successful operation.
It is a real strength of SMS that last minute roster changes are easy and quick to implement, including once-only and one day changes and changes to individual clients.

Data export
Some industry programs restrict your ability to export your own data to common formats, for example to manipulate in Excel or to transfer to a new program.
Sometimes, you have to keep paying to renew a program licence to be able to access your old data.
SMS allows export of key data to common industry formats.
And older versions of SMS remain usable, so you can access historical data even if you are not a current SMS client.

With SMS, you drive development
Like any good program, we are continually developing SMS to handle new programs and extend its use. The difference is, with SMS you drive the process.
Just tell us what it is you want. Chances are we’ll find other SMS users want the same thing.
So, rather than write modifications just for you (at your cost), we’ll modify or extend the program.
Ongoing improvements will appear in your next upgrade, at your standard upgrade cost. If the new capabilities amount to a full module, you’ll pay only a standard new module fee (see Value for Money) – not the full cost of development.
So your SMS will continually adapt to reflect your needs. (Of course, individual customisation is still available if required.)

Value for money
A management system, like any business investment, must be evaluated in terms of its costs and the value of the benefits that result.
Costs
The full cost of an SMS installation is comparable to other industry programs.
Our modular design however means you can reduce costs by only buying the modules you need now. You can add new modules if the need arises.
Even the cost of ongoing support is optional, if you are confident of your ability with the program. Alternatively, you can buy pay-as-you-go support.
SMS software is a lifetime purchase, not an annual licence. So if you decide not to take upgrades, you can continue to use your original software for as long as you want.

SMS runs on any Windows computer from Windows 95 (requires Windows 2000 on for full functionality) so your hardware costs are minimized.
